Dr. Rita F. Pierson shares in this TED Talk about the importance of relationship in teaching.  She inspiring us all that every kid needs a champion, someone who will believe in them and cheer them on.  She talks about the reality of teaching, yet gives hope to everyone inspiring the next generation to love the unlovely, to believe in those you teach and build a bridge where by learning can really occur.

I later find out that Rita accepted Christ at an early age and her enthusiasm for life was a giveaway of her faith!  Here is a fellow believer really making a difference.  She is now in glory, but what a legacy of a lady who really knew what it was to teach Christianly in what it seems were secular schools that she taught in.  Such an inspiration to teachers!
