Teaching Christianly – A is for Ant

A is for ANT – A lesson in wisdom and diligence.

Proverbs 6:6 – [ The Folly of Indolence ] Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise,

This is a famous verse which is used often to remind us that as we look at Creation, God would love to speak to us.  Scripture talks about God’s invisible characteristics which are seen in what He has made, so that we are without excuse to believe in HIm.

Romans 1:20 – For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

In the following articles we are going to track through other Scriptures and aspects of God’s creation and see some of the lessons we can learn from these.  You can follow these as we go through the alphabet.  The key to teaching Christianly is to see the world through God’s eyes and apply His Word to everyday life.

[Ants] are known for their highly organized colonies and nests, which sometimes consist of millions of individuals. Individuals are divided into sub-fertile, and more commonly sterile, females (“workers,” “soldiers,” and other castes), fertile males (“drones”), and fertile females (“queens”). Colonies can occupy and use a wide area of land to support themselves. Ant coloniesare sometimes described as superorganisms because the colony appears to operate as a unified entity (Wikipedia.)
