The words we speak are powerful, they are creative and can paint our future. The story of Lady Anne Grimson not only illustrates this point, but today her grave also stands as a testament to the existence of the after-life. She was a woman who had everything in this world’s standard, but she did not have time for God. She mocked that there was an after-life and even said the following.
“I shall not continue to live. It is as unlikely that I shall continue to live as that a tree will grow out of my body.” She went so far as to make a challenge to Heaven, saying “If, indeed, there is life hereafter, trees will render asunder my tomb.”The rest is history, as you can see in the picture that this exact thing happened. |

God certainly will not be mocked and this picture is a powerful illustration to the next generation, that not only is there an after-life, but to be careful what you speak over your own life.
Lady Anne Grimston’s grave is found in Tewin, England at St Peter’s Church. Out of that grave grows a tree with four tree trunks. Below is an article from 1871 documenting this event.Bucks Herald, 5 March 1871 (from Notes & Queries)A full outline of this story can be found at http://www.traditioninaction.org/religious/h010rp.LadyGrimston_Galitzin.html
